Rant & Rave Sept. 3

“To Ms. Mariah: If Thomasville is so plantation minded and so wicked, nasty, mean and evil, why don't you try one of those nice paved roads and get out of it. Go."

“I wonder how big of a hero Bobby Bowden would have been if his Seminoles had played in the SEC all those years instead of being independent or in the ACC? He's a great coach, but he's whining a little bit. FSU did a lot for him, too. Look at how much money he made. I wish he'd played in the SEC. A lot of those No. 1 rankings would not have been there. Everybody knows it is a fact."

“It is upsetting to think that Sheriff Young would think it is OK to shoot dogs instead of calling animal control because county property was damaged. You have more than 20 options of other things you can do. You can call animal control, stand behind closed doors or use your pepper spray. But to kill an animal over property is bull."

“Cairo picked up Jordan in the place of Thomasville and Thomasville picked up Lovett in place of Cairo. Thomasville picked up a tougher team. If you want to know the real reason why they are not playing, call the Cairo coaching staff. They are the ones that decided they didn't want to play Thomasville."

“I was told by a Cairo official that Thomasville demanded a certain date to play the game. They said, ‘Our way or no way’. Thomasville did the dropping because they wanted Pelham for a sure win to help in the playoffs for a better win-loss record to break a possible tie for the playoffs."

EDITOR’S NOTE: Playing Pelham does not impact Thomasville’s playoff standing. Only games against Class AA teams can be used as a tiebreaker for the Bulldogs.
