Rant & Rave for July 29

THOMASVILLE — “Meigs has the highest millage rate in Thomas County. The people of Meigs who receive the benefits of water, sewage and garbage should share in paying the taxes.”

“Why do people keep saying Obama raised taxes when he actually cut taxes last year? Why do people keep lying about the president? He is a good president. His policies brought us back from the brink of depression after the Bush presidency.”

“Congrats to the Thomasville Crushers on an outstanding first season!”

“I would like to thank Mrs. Lovetta at Walgreen’s for making my mom's passing a little easier. I wish there were more people in the world like her. She is an angel.”

“As the honorary president of the Boy Scouts of America, it speaks volumes that President Obama will blow off their historical 100th jamboree celebration and instead make history as the first sitting president to appear on a daytime talk show. Bump the next generation of leaders. Barbara Walters is calling baby! Can you say, narcissist?”

“Regardless of what Mr. Keown has or hasn't done as a public servant, one thing is for sure: he never voted to raise his constituents’ gas and electricity bills to levels that President Obama said would necessarily skyrocket by 90 percent. Sanford Bishop did. That means the cost of everything would substantially increase, including food and clothing.”

“Don't lump me in your rant to Randy Young. I'm in south Georgia and I mind very much that the Muslims want to build a mosque at the site of the greatest act of terror ever perpetrated on our country.”

“If Keown had not mentioned the fact Bishop’s office was using tax dollars to campaign, Bishop would not have said a word. He got caught wasting taxpayers’ money, again.”
