Rant & Rave Nov. 5, 2009

“Just wanted to Rant about the Boys and Girls Club of Thomas County. Thanks for all you do and for being a positive place for our kids to attend. Congrats to the new Boys and Girls Club in Cairo.”

“I would like to say congratulations to the new mayor in Meigs, Andrew Wurst. I don't know you or even live in Meigs, but I do remember the Meigs of my childhood. It was a great place to live. Let’s hope you can turn things around and get Meigs back on track.”

“In my 72 years of existence newspapers have always endorsed candidates while giving their reasons. How else are we going to know what they stand for, they certainly don’t get out and meet the public anymore. If you think you have to vote for who they endorse then you should not be voting.”

“Thank you Earl Williams Jr. for your many years of service to this community. You are a great friend to us.”

“I would like to say thank you to all the city employees for all you do to make our city a better place.”

“The real question is how many tax dollars are wasted by our health department with all those employees on the clock eating cake and having a party for a retiree. That’s the real question.”

“Just got my tax bill in Grady County. Those education people and Grady County commissioners need to be held accountable. You think the federal government is getting bad but the ones people need to complain to is the local government.”

“Who does the Times-Enteprise think it is? It’s a newspaper, duh. Newspapers endorse candidates. Where have you been?”
