Rant & Rave Nov. 1, 2009

“I challenge all readers to spend a week posting only raves in this column. We all have something positive in our lives to be thankful for.”

“Why aren’t there any candidate profiles about the Thomas County Board of Education in the Times-Enterprise? I thought there were at least a few seats up for election. Are you afraid to battle the good ol’ boys?”

EDITOR’S NOTE: Tuesday’s election is only for municipal seats.

“As I see it, giving Obama credit for turning the economy around is a little premature. And I'm sure the thousands of unemployed who are actually seeking work would agree.”

“The Freedom Line leader’s call for a protest of the health care bill that she admitted that she had not read is proof that her movement is focused on opposition for the sake of opposition, not about being a conscientious participant in the debate.”

“Sanford Bishop is nothing more than a puppet for Nancy Pelosi.”

“Central’s principal and coaches did a good job of honoring the 1959 football team, but the Times-Enterprise dropped the ball by not having a picture or any names of the players.”

“A tale told by an idiot, indeed. The quote was from Shakespeare’s Macbeth, not Faulkner.”

“Way to go, Yellow Jackets! You have come a long way. You are the region champs, but you can still accomplish so much more. Just keep taking them one at a time. Bainbridge is next.”
