Rant & Rave Oct. 9

“Cash for Clunkers was a stupid program. It took perfectly good cars and destroyed them. It wasted our taxpayer money. It's like breaking window so some people can get jobs repairing them. We need better leadership in Washington."

“I have insurance and I called to get a doctor's appointment, and they told me it would be five weeks. It scares me to death to think of what's going to happen if Obama's health care plan goes through."

“I'm disappointed in Bobby Bowden. I thought he was a bigger man than to let money come in the way of his convictions. He should resign."

“FSU needs to fire all the coaches instead of just Bobby Bowden. It will cost them millions to get rid of him."

“Randy, I read your column and was disappointed and pleased. I was disappointed you say that you watch the David Letterman show when he showed such disrespect for President Bush his entire time in office. The fact that he had sex with members of his staff doesn't surprise me at all. I think it's perfectly in character for him. The remainder of your column I agreed with. Turn off the TV. I think it has destroyed family life. Families need to spend time talking to each other."

“So the fearless Democratic leader Sen. Harry Reid doesn't want anyone to read the latest health care bill before it's voted on. Isn't that marvelous?"

“Laurel Hill Cemetery should be opened and closed as noted on the signs and not allow Thomasville High School fans to park there."

“The war in Vietnam was not lost by ground troops. It was lost on Pennsylvania Avenue by Lyndon Johnson."

“Can you believe the fiscal year '09 financial deficit it over $1.4 trillion? Who's going to pay for it?"
