Rant & Rave June 28

“Why would the paper publish a picture of Michael Jackson giving ‘the finger?’ Is this the way we are supposed to remember him? A south Georgia newspaper should do better. God help us!”

“You’re right. The government should not be deciding who lives and dies. Let’s let the CEOs who make millions of dollars a year keep that right.”

“To the person who thinks you can buy quality health insurance for $60 a month: You obviously don't pay for your own private insurance if you think that's what it costs.”

“How much do you want for the beach front property in Oklahoma? I might be interested.”

“The $200,000 overrun in the cost of the new city utilities building was described as ‘slightly over budget’ If an individual is 16 percent over budget, he is in serious trouble. Not to worry, though, the city can just raise our utility rates to make up for this slight overspending.”

“When are the police going to do something about the crackheads who are harassing us in the historic district during all hours of the day and night? They are begging, stealing and harassing. We need some help with this nuisance — now”

“If al-Qaida is intent on destroying America, it better get busy or Obama is going to beat them to it.”

“When are the people of south Georgia going to hold Sanford Bishop accountable for the outrageous votes he takes with the liberals about 90 percent of the time — liberals like Nancy Pelosi.”
