Rant & Rave Nov. 23

“You don't have to travel to Kansas, Dorothy. Just drive to Bainbridge for $ 1.79-per-gallon gas! Thomasville still has the highest gas prices in south Georgia.”

“I see the price of pizza has dropped in China. Thanks, Randy.”

“Each time there is a wave of concern about taxes, a new generation of reformers resurrect talk of consolidation. Before the uninformed recycle these tired old suggestions, they should learn why these ‘new ideas’ have been considered and rejected so many times before.”

“I’d like to see the caveman and the lizard ride off into the sunset together.”

“Why should we shut our mouth about gas prices? We shouldn’t have to cry and complain to get people to do what is right, but it will work.”

“With technology, it seems the school systems would provide our children with computers so they wouldn’t have to carry those heavy book bags.”

“Going to public meetings to try to follow the money is becoming a full-time job. When is the next meeting?”

EDITOR’S NOTE: The Thomasville City Council is set to conduct a budget workshop and public hearing on Tuesday at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively, in council chambers at 144 E. Jackson St.

“The gas we get in Thomasville must be made from the fossils of special dinosaurs. Surely that’s the reason it costs 30 cents more per gallon here than in Americus.”
