THOMASVILLE —
I wish to reply in every respect to Kellen Abrams’ letter to the editor of Aug. 25.
Thoughts are very seldom expressed from anyone who takes the time to first think, think before they speak. With respect to all religions (all beliefs), let me share with you the following words.
To me, the catchy word “religion” so often creates controversy, friction and ill feelings. Simply put, one person may not agree with the other.
If this word could ever be removed from the dictionary, the entire world will find peace for the first time.
From the beginning of time, “religion” (again, all beliefs) have created all wars. It is a very destructive force — if ever taken out of context.
Every human being needs “love,” never controversy. We need each other. We must never forget this.
Children fear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil. So where does it come from?
We need to learn a simple basic truth on this good earth. We need one another as a “child” and as an “adult.”
Remember, our children are God’s living creatures, innocent and blessed, to become our teachers someday.
Parents must take more time in their lives and share it with their children. It is so sad to know that our children see most of their time with teachers and less than a few hours daily with their parents. This must change if we want to correct our wrongs.
Parents must be held accountable for raising their children into a moral life. This is a major problem in our world — children raising themselves.
Allow your beliefs to seek the truth and righteousness that we all possess. Let it be a worthless cause to discuss religion in any form. It is more fruitful to say to another human being, “I love you.” It may remove a burden from your heart.
Live one day at a time and enjoy the fruits of your labor and the true love in our hearts to share.
Let us pray these words will prepare us for a beautiful world to live in peace with our Creator.

Enough is enough
In a community where most taxpayers are going to sometimes-extraordinary lengths to make ends meet and pay their bills, we do not think elected officials should be trying to squeeze a new penny out of every hard-earned dollar citizens spend
