Rant & Rave March 13

“The only atrocity seen (Friday) is the attempt by the newspaper to write a persuasive explanation about their editorial topic. Christian kindness isn’t part of the conservative view of health care. Refer to Luke 10:25-37. Other scriptures for the ‘editorial staff’ to read, study and take into your lives would be Titus 3:1, Romans 13:1-7 and Matthew 11:1-15.”

EDITOR’S NOTE: Please cite the Bible verse that says health care for Americans is the responsibility of the government. Charitable acts are individual choices. Government coercion — taking money from its rightful owners and giving it to someone else — hardly seems kind to me.

“How dare this guy tell the commission that he is going to do the bog event anyway after being given a cease-and-desist order. Who does he think he is? Im very surprised that our sheriff was speaking out on this man's behalf.”

“After reading the editorial on Friday, I’m not surprised no one will put their name on that garbage. You should be ashamed for publishing something so treasonous. If health care reform doesn’t pass, the insurance companies will celebrate by raising our premiums, our deductibles and reducing our coverage. We can’t trust Republicans to fix this.”

EDITOR’S NOTE: The names of the Times-Enterprise Editorial Board members are published on the opinion page daily. Friday’s edition was no exception.

“Is Mr. Lewis claiming the revenue he is earning to the IRS and Georgia Department of Revenue? Does he have a business licsence? Is he charging vendors? Does he have insurance for these events? Come on, this is a business. The zoning department and commissioners did the right thing!”
