Rant & Rave July 3

“Kudos to Charles Evans. Yes, you were the only Thomas County board member who stood up for the personnel who were let go. Some were let go for no reason at all."

“Go, Farah Fawcett. We will always remember you. You're the nation's pin-up girl."

“Randy Young’s words about childhood are too true. Too many parents want their kids to be ‘little adults’ when they should just be kids. Michael Jackson never got to do that, and as talented as he was, he was pitiful.”

“A big thank you to Thomas County Board of Education members Scott Morgan and Johnny Bannister for supporting the administration of the school system. Some of the other members should follow your example and act sensibly.”

“We are not complaining about hearing about Michael Jackson. However, the paper could have used a more complimentary picture of him. ‘The finger.’ How crude! What kind of mindset is that to present to children? No wonder our kids are messed up.”

EDITOR’S NOTE: We have yet to discern the obscene gesture in the photo published last week.
