Rant & Rave July 1

“Where is this $60-a-month health insurance? My father-in-law is 64 and lost his job. His insurance payment is $800 a month with the benefit of COBRA. It takes more than a cable bill and a few restaurant bills to cover that.”

“I argued on the phone last Friday with Rep. Sanford Bishop's aide. He said the Cap-and-Trade Bill would only make our electric bill increase by 75 cents a month. We need to throw Bishop out of office.”

“You are wasting your money on those $60 medical policies. You might have health insurance, but that’s all you have. The payout on your problems are next to nothing. Duh!”

“Thanks to Charles Evans, the only board member who stood up for the personnel who were let go. It looks to me like the county system could have shaved the supplements to keep on 35 people.”

“To the person who was thanking Sanford Bishop: I hope you were being sarcastic, but I feel like you weren’t.”

“Farrah Fawcett and Ed McMahon were big stars and we loved them, but they were not as big as Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson’s music will live forever. He was a superstar. Stop hating on that and get over it.”

“I don’t think this is the time, sir or ma'am, to be insensitive about Michael Jackson’s death. It makes the children feel really bad. They loved him and they don’t know anything about ‘crotches.’ They only know about their heart. There’s something good, bad and ugly about everyone. If you look in the mirror, you will also find you have been ‘weird’ — but nobody is putting this in the paper about you.”

“I was surprised and saddened to learn that Fallin's Bar-B-Q had gone out of business. Many great meals were prepared in that restaurant. My prayers go out to Joe Fallin and his family.”

“Isn't it our elected school board members’ job to know the ‘package?’ It looks like we need to take the next elections seriously.”
