Services for Elma Bernice Bryant Daughtry, 94, of Cairo, will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at Eastside Baptist Church, Cairo. The Rev. Carl Harrell will officiate. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo. Mrs. Daughtry passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital, Thomasville, on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012. Active pallbearers will be her nephews. Mrs. Daughtry was born on July 11, 1918, in Whigham, to the late Ira and Viola Boyett Bryant. On May 2, 1936, she married John Norwood Daughtry. Mr. Daughtry preceded her in death on July 22, 2002. She operated a day care for children from her home for over 30 years. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. She is survived by four sisters-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Daughtry was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, John Norwood Daughtry; parents; sisters, Eunice Joyner, Louise Johnson, Martha Dyess; and a brother, Chesley Bryant.
