Graveside services for James Brewer Pope, 82, of Barwick, are at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, in Rosewood cemetery in Barwick with the Rev. Elbert Channell officiating. Mr. Pope died Wednesday, Feb. 24, at his residence after a brief illness. Born in Barwick, Ga., he was the son of James Augustus and Fannie Nell Brewer Pope. He was a farmer and a member of the Barwick Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Sue Hobbs Pope of Barwick; four daughters, Nancy (Spencer) Gandy of Atlanta, Kathy (Mark) Wheeler of Barwick, Abigail Pope of Barwick, Tillitha (Mike) Wilson of Atlanta; one son, Edwin (Melissa) Pope of Barwick; and 11 grandchildren.
