Mildred Rose Tashie

— Services for Mildred Rose Tashie, of Thomasville, will be held at East Side Baptist Church, where she was a member, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013. Pastor Tim Robson will officiate, and interment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Millie went to be with The Lord Jan. 11, 2013, surrounded by her family in her home. Born Feb. 27, 1934, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred Madonia Schinelli. She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, George Tashie. Many knew her as Millie. Some knew her as Mrs. Tashie. A few knew her as Tootsie. But most knew her as Yia Yia. She loved The Lord and her family with all her heart and was an encouragement to everyone she met. She also is survived by her sons, Joe Tashie and wife, Kathy. of Waxhaw, N.C., Jim Tashie and wife, Melinda, of Thomasville, daughter, Eve Tashie Adams and husband, David, of Thomasville; grandchildren, Luke Tashie and wife, Laura, Arik Tashie, Christina Tashie Clawson and husband, Steven, Tyler Miller, Hannah Tashie, Michael Adams, Emily Adams, Olivia Adams, Stephanie Adams, Stephen Adams and Catie Adams; great-grandchildren, Evelyn Tashie, Isabel Tashie, Clara Tashie, Ryder Miller and Sophia Clawson; sisters, Dolly Santillo, of Parlin, N.J., and Janice Wiswell of Jacksonville, Fla.; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Irene Tashie Schultz and husband, Don, and Chris Tashie.
