Mary Charlene Cannon

Services for Mary Charlene Cannon are at 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at Zion Grove Assembly of God. Pastor Curt McCollough and Pastor Craig Dozier will officiate and interment is in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Daniel Luke, Roy Weeks, Thomas Roberts, Joseph Cannon, Bill Hiscock, Phillip Thomas, Randy Welch, Donny Griner and Junior Ireland. Mrs. Cannon died Monday, Nov. 16 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born Feb. 16, 1955, in Quitman, Ga., she was a daughter of the late Freddie Thomas Morse and Mary Josephine Gunn. She was married to George Wesley Cannon. She was a graduate of Plant City High School in Plant City, Fla., and member of Zion Grove Assembly of God where she served as the church treasurer. She was a department manager for Wal-mart. Other survivors include sons, George Christopher Cannon and fiancé Heidi Moser, Wesley Lavon Cannon and wife Evelyn, Scotty Joe Cannon and wife Marjorie all of Meigs; daughters, Resina Ruth Weldon and husband Mark of Doerun, Ga., Celina Diana Giddens and husband William of Thomasville; brothers and sisters, Carolyn Marie Gunn of Gainesville, Fla., James Everett Morse of Tallahassee, Fla., Virginia Lee Kitchingham of Atlanta, Marjorie Ann Cannon of Meigs, Marilyn Marie Lancaster of Atlanta, Josephine Marie Gunn of Thomasville; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Niki, Christene, Bryan, Kevin, Zachary, Sandra, Joseph, George, Tiffany, Mathew, Cody, Ellisia and Willie; nieces and nephews, Tabitha, Jennifer, Dawn, Thomas, Joshua, Thomas, Jamie, Jimmy, Elain and Allice Faye. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Thomas Morse. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m., today at the funeral home. — Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home
