Services for David Lee Smythe, 62, of Dixie are at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at Evergreen Baptist Church.ÊThe Rev. Kenneth Green and the Rev. Harry Miller will officiate.ÊHonoring his request Mr. Smythe will be cremated.ÊMr. Smythe died Tuesday Nov. 3, 2009, at his residence after a lengthy illness. Born Dec. 18, 1946, in Sanford, Fla., he was a son of Charles William and Marcile Miller Smythe.ÊHe was a retired truck driver and member of the Evergreen Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Lastinger Smythe of Dixie; his son, Jeffrey David Smythe of Dixie; special great nieces, Macayla and Maddie; other nieces and nephews; stepmother Cris Smythe of Woodenville, Wash.; two sisters-in-law, Mavis Watson (Peter) Fulton of Thomasville, Dena L. Gooch of Suches, Ga.; and a brother-in-law; Glenn Denny of Pinellas Park, Fla.ÊHe was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Smythe; and sister, Jackie Denny.
