John C. Kelly

Services for John C. Kelly, 54, of Cairo, are at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Cairo. The Rev. Kenneth Fleming and the Rev. Dellise Cox will officiate and interment is in Pallbearer Cemetery in Cairo. Pallbearers are Paul Jones, Vanaster Williams Jr., Martivus Thomas, Chris Kelly, Lawarence Hall, Ronnie Ray and Bruce Kelly. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Mitchell, Alonzo Kelly Jr., Tony Kelly, Henry Smother, Ricky Huntley and Larry Thomas. Mr. Kelly died Oct. 27 at his residence. Born Dec. 26, 1954, in Cairo, he was a son of Roosevelt and Lillie Kelly. He attended Washington Consolidated High School in Cairo, was a laborer and was a member of Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Cairo. Survivors include his mother, Lillie P. Kelly of Cairo; devoted friend, Shirley Ann James of Cairo; sisters, Edith (Vanaster) Williams of Cairo, Brenda (Ronald) Gordon of Calvary; brothers, Roosevelt (Jeannette) Kelly Jr. of Cairo, James (Dorothy) Kelly of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Jimmy Lee (Nita) Kelly of Calvary; sister-in-law, Alma Kelly of Cairo; brother-in-law, James Ray of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; stepchildren, Matishia James, Patishia A. James, Jerry J. Mitchell all of Cairo; special friends, Betty Mobley, Ruby Hall both of Cairo; eight grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Ñ Cloud & Son Funeral Home
