Ollie Mae Guyton Cantrell

Services for Ollie Mae Guyton Cantrell, 84, of Coolidge, are at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at Coolidge Church of God. The Rev. Frankie Butler, the Rev. Ricky Alford and the Rev. Jimmy West will officiate and interment follows in Zion Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers are Dell Alford, John Sloan Jr., Wayne Sherrod, Donnie West, Don Cole and John Clyde. Honorary pallbearers are Cletis Burgess and Randall Lairsey. Mrs. Cantrell died Tuesday, Oct. 27, at her residence. Born April 6, 1925, in Bartow County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Leonard L. Guyton and Ellen Collins Guyton. She was a homemaker, faithfully served as pastor's wife, member and head of the Ladies Ministries at Coolidge Church of God for 39 years. “She gave of herself unconditionally for the needs of others, serving in the ministry for a total of 60 years,” her family said. She was preceded in death by one sister, Nellie Carter; one brother, Milo Guyton; and her step-father, Cleo Morris. Survivors include her husband of 67 years, the Rev. Clay Cantrell of Coolidge; one daughter, Janice Butler and husband Frankie of Coolidge; one granddaughter, Jan Sloan and husband John Jr. of Coolidge; three great-grandchildren, Hayden Sloan, Gracee Sloan, Nevaeh Sloan, all of Coolidge; one brother, Grady Guyton and wife Joyce of Dallas, Ga.; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Southern Care Hospice and the members of Coolidge Church of God. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m., today at the funeral home.
