Lisa Cook Fender

Services for Lisa Cook Fender, 52, of Pelham, are at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, at Hand Memorial United Methodist Church. The Rev. Edward Green will officiate and interment is in Pelham City Cemetery. Mrs. Fender died Thursday, Oct. 22, at Palmyra Medical Center in Albany. Born July 3, 1957, in Great Falls, Mont., Mrs. Fender was the daughter of the late Ira Jackson “Jack” Cook, Jr. She was a member of Hand Memorial United Methodist Church. She attended Ravenwood Academy, graduated from Pelham High School in 1975, and also attended Tallahassee Community College. Mrs. Fender was a former member of the Pelham Jr. Woman’s Club and the Tallahassee Jaycees. She worked with the Georgia Department of Labor in job readiness and job placement. She was talented in art and interior decorating. Survivors include her husband, Calvin Fender of Pelham; two daughters, Brandi McGalliard and husband, Kirk, of Pelham, Brooke Hawley and husband, Chase, of Pelham; her mother, Mary Cook Culbreth of Pelham; and three grandchildren, Morgan McGalliard, Blaire McGalliard, and Jack Hawley. Memorials may be made to Hand Memorial United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 424, Pelham, Ga. 31779. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Camilla.
