— Services for Retha Mae Tidwell Upton Muggridge, 92, of Thomasville, are at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Salem Baptist Church in Pavo, where she was a member. The Rev. Bobby Tidwell will officiate, and interment will be at Salem Cemetery. Mrs. Muggridge died on Jan. 11, 2013, at her residence. She was born Feb. 20, 1920, in Forsyth County to Andrew Carl Tidwell and Izzie Cleo Gravitt Tidwell. She lived most of her life in Pavo and was the sister of 12 children. On July 5, 1941, Mrs. Muggridge married S.A. Upton, who died on Dec. 24, 1987. They had three children, Joyce Upton Fallin, George Allen Upton and Carl Anderson Upton, who died on July 16, 2002. On Jan. 3, 1990, Mrs. Muggridge married Elmer Muggridge, who died on April 3, 2006. Mrs. Muggridge is survived by her daughter, Joyce Fallin and husband, Vince, Leesburg; son, George Allen Upton and wife, Kathryn, of Thomasville; and daughter-in-law, Merle Upton, of Thomasville. Surviving grandchildren are Todd Fallin and wife, Heide, and Chad Fallin of Leesburg, Mark Upton and wife, Leslye, of Cairo, Chris Upton and wife, Claudia, of Woodbridge, Va., Heather Upton Carrasquilla. of Leesburg, Caroline Upton, of Thomasville, Lyle Upton and wife, Rene, of Coolidge, and Blythe Upton, of Thomasville. Surviving great-grandchildren are Hunter and Brinly Fallin, Josie and Meaghan Fallin, Nicholas and Emily Carrasquilla, Corey, Emma and Olivia Upton, Riley and Will Upton and Cole, Gavin and Carley Upton. Mrs. Muggridge also is survived by five siblings, Frances Vinson of Boston, Rozell Biles and husband Gene of Auburndale, Fla., Runelle Flowers of Bonifay, Fla., Bobby Lee Tidwell and wife, June, of Bonifay, Shirley Wilson and husband, Charles, of Thomasville, and sister-in-law, Antoinette Tidwell of Burke, Va. She was preceded in death by a son, Carl Anderson Upton; grandson, Carl Ashley Upton; sisters, Juanita Tidwell, Gertrude Cooper Salgado and Katherine Reeves; and brothers, W. D.
