Yancey Garland

Services for Yancey Garland, 96, Thomasville, are at 2 p.m., Oct. 27, 2007, at Providence Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Emory C. Virgil will officiate and interment is in Magnolia Cemetery. Active pallbearers are deacons of Providence Missionary Baptist Church and grandsons. Mr. Garland died Oct. 21 at Golden Nursing Center. He was born in Grady County. He was married to Josephine Branham who preceded him in death. He was retired from the city of Thomasville and a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Hazel Frazier of Thomasville; brother, William Garland of Miami, Fla.; sister, Annie Bell Webbs of Thomasville; granddaughter, Rosetta (Kevin) Morris of Pasadena, Md.; grandsons, Randy (Mary) Frazier of Tallahassee, Fla., Terry (Berlinda) Frazier of Thomasville; granddaughters, Anta (Robert) Frazier of Thomasville, Betty Grubbs of Tallahassee; grandsons, Lamar Wajane) Petties of Albany, Willie Fred McCray of Tallahassee; granddaughters, Berlinda McCray, Peggy (Rufus) Cotton all of Tallahassee; Ernest Garland, Whalen Garland, Thomas Garland Jr., Otis (Jennet) Garland, Francis (Curtis) Williams all of Valdosta, Leroy, Tim and Dorsey Garland all of Virginia, Yancey Garland, Levon (Ricardo) Bowdry, Sandra Garland, Rita (Jackie) Hill all of Thomasville, Jimmy, Elaine and Elnor Garland of New York City, N.Y., Lawson, Jerry (Mince), Michael, Gwen, Shirley, Patrick (Linda), Dwight (Lois), Jennifer Mack all of Thomasville; daughters-in-law, Louise Garland of New York City, Juanita Garland of Valdosta; four generations of grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The viewing is from noon to 8:30 p.m., today at the funeral home and from noon until the funeral hour Saturday at the church. — Hatcher-Peoples Funeral Home
