Princetta Hadley Greene


Services for Princetta Hadley Greene, 98, are at 11 a.m., Friday, July 31, 2009, at Clifford Temple CME Church. The Rev. Carlton Mahone, presiding elder of the Albany-Thomasville District, will officiate and interment is in Ochlocknee Baptist Church Cemetery, U.S. 319 South in Grady County. Pallbearers are her grandsons, Morris E. Williams III, Brian Williams, Roddrick Williams, Richard Williams, James Greene III and Robert Williams. Honorary pallbearers are stewards of Clifford Temple CME Church. Mrs. Greene died July 26, 2009, at Camellia Gardens of Life Care. She the seventh child born to Richard Sr. and Lula Reid Hadley. She was married to the Rev. James N. Greene Sr. who preceded her in death and later to John F. Green, who also preceded her in death. She taught school in Thomasville and Thomas County for 40 years and cared for more than 25 foster children. She was a member of Rebecca Chapter No. 32 of the Eastern Star, Prince Hall Affiliated. Survivors include her children, the Rev. James N. (Geraldine) Greene Jr., Mary Greene (Hillmar) Patterson, Vernon R. Greene, Samuel (Rosemary) Boykins; 13 grandchildren, Patricia (Artis) Scott, James N. Greene III, Morris (Demetria) Williams, Brian (Carla) Williams, Roddrick Williams, Richard (Nicole) Williams, Robert Williams, Stephanie Williams, Sabrina (Moses) Boykins-Everette, Susan Boykins, Kendall Boykins, Vernon Greene Jr.; a sister; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances G. Williams; four brothers; and four sisters. The family will assemble at 10 a.m., at 120 Crestwood Drive for the procession to the church. — Hadley’s Funeral Home
