Juanita Miller Carter



Services for Juanita Miller Carter, of Thomasville, are 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at Merrillville Baptist Church. The Rev. Bret Bush and Rev. Darrell Owens will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Robbie Prosser, Tim Warren, Shaun Martin, Ashley Carter, Seth Carter and John Mitchell. Honorary Pallbearers will be sons-in-law, Clarence Wilson, Donald Rehberg, Calvin Martin and special nephew Ernie Jordan. Mrs. Carter died Jan. 22, at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born Sept. 15, 1923, in Hopewell Settlement, Miss., she was the daughter of the late James Abe and Laura Howell Miller. On June 12, 1943, she married William Adam (Billy) Carter, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Peggy Carter (Calvin) Martin, Cheryl L. Carter (Clarence) Wilson, all of Thomasville, Alton Terry Buddy (Barbara) Carter of Adairsville, and, Laura Carter (Donald) Rehberg and Patrick Wayne Carter, all of Coolidge; special niece, Anne (Ernie) Jordan; brother, James Harold (Sara) Miller of Quitman; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson to be born this month; two more great-great-grandchildren on the way; and, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sons, Aaron Reid Carter, Billy Dan (Danny) Carter and William Larry Carter, and a grandson, Jeffrey Scott Martin.
