Kay Williams



Services for Kay Williams, 78, of Camilla, are at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The Rev. Stanley Smith and the Rev. Charles McCardle will officiate and interment is in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Eddie Hayes, Mickey Phelps, John Loyd, Kenneth Williams Jr., Curtis Simmons and Melvin Smith. Honorary pallbearers include Billy Green, Kenneth Williams, Jimmy Williams, Larry Williams, Jerry Williams, Ronald Bufford, Freddie Bateman, Steve Mims, Jimmy Keith Loyd, Don ÒTinyÓ Broom, Earl Myers, Bobby Suggs, G.W. Faircloth, and Melvin Jones. Mr. Williams died Thursday, Jan. 21, at his residence. Born Feb. 20, 1931, in Camilla, Mr. Williams was the son of the late James Wilburn and Ethyl Rackley Williams. He was married to the late Myrtice Loyd Williams. Mr. Williams was a farmer and retired from Georgia Power Company after 40 years of service. He served as an active member of the Georgia Power Ambassadors group and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Pamela Kaye Waldron and husband, Charles, of Cairo, Karlia Willis and husband, John, of Pine Mountain, and Tonya ÒToyÓ Byrd of Pooler; two sons, James Wilburn Williams of Camilla and Ted Tate Williams and wife, Wendy, of Camilla; three sisters, Elizabeth W. Walker of St. John, Fla., Vernice W. Harvey of Austella, and Patricia W. Futch of Lake Park; one brother, Vance Williams of Camilla; 12 grandchildren, William Waldron, Wade Waldron, Sally W. Thompson, Katie Williams, Lillian Williams, Wesley Willis, Luci Willis, Patricia Willis, Evan Willis, Sarah Byrd, Maggie Byrd, Tyler Byrd; and three great-grandchildren, Lauren Waldron, Madison Waldron, and Sydney Allday. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home in Camilla. Memorials may be made to Baconton Charter School Scholarship Fund, 260 E.
