THOMASVILLE — A memorial service for Eric Lucian Williams is at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at First Seventh Day Adventist. Pastor Michael Ross Sr. will officiate and interment is in Peaceful Rest Cemetery. Mr. Williams died Aug. 6. He was born on Dec. 27, 1963, in Tyler, Texas and was one of four sons born to Arthur Williams Sr. and the late Margaret Williams. He graduated from a Phoenix, Ariz. high school in 1981. He also received a certificate in travel and tourism. He enjoyed life and loved to travel from state to state seing what great things God has created. He was a lover of animals especially cats. He joined the First Seventh Day Adventist under the leadership of Pastor Sherwin Callwood Sr. He was an active member serving as a deacon, Sabbath school secretary, communication secretary, singles ministry leader, hospitality committee, volunteering with the VISTA and Safe Haven programs and worked performing a local card ministry. He ran a good race and fought a good fight and by God’s grace he awaits a better place. Days go and are forgotten, but memories last forever. Survivors include his father, Arthur Williams Sr. of Thomasville; three brothers, Arthur (Diane) Williams Jr. of Thomasville, Anthony (Phyllis) Williams of Phoenix, Ariz., Benjamin Williams of Colorado; a cousin, Bea Mansfield whom he adopted as his mother of Thomasville; a cousin, Penina (Larry) Ivey that he took as a sister; aunts, Earline Dennis, Ira Mae Williams; uncle, Corey (Maureen) Poole; and numerous other cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
