Fred Elton Rackley Jr.

THOMASVILLE —

Graveside services for Fred Elton Rackley Jr., 76, of Meigs, are at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at Meigs Sunset Cemetery. The Rev. David Pickering will officiate. Pallbearers are Tony West, Terry Stewart, Jess Kilpatrick, Earl West and Mark Rackley. Mr. Rackley died Tuesday, Feb. 21 at Archbold Hospital in Thomasville. Born Aug. 15, 1935, in Sale City, Ga., he is the son of the late Fred Elton Rackley Sr. and Georgia Akridge Rackley. He served in the U.S. Army, member of Meigs Baptist Church and a retired farmer. Survivors include children, Patricia Rackley Metcalf and husband, Sam, of Tallahassee, Fla., Felicia Rackley Parker and husband, Rodney of West Palm, Fla., Freddie E. Rackley and wife, Penny, of Bainbridge, Richard Wayne Rackley and wife, Susan, of Meigs; grandchildren, Samuel Metcalf, Kayla Blackburn, Matthew Daniel, Michael Daniel, Laban Rackley, Graham Rackley, Lauren Rackley, Amber Rackley; great-grandchildren, Dylan Gay, Gavin Blackburn; sisters, Evelyn “Annie” Kilpatrick of Ellijay and Leone Alligood of Meigs. He was preceded in death by brothers, Oscar Rackley, Daniel Rackley, David Rackley; and sisters, Kathryn Rackley, Margaret Stewart, Grace Dorsey and Joann Pye.
