Delores Grooms Davis

THOMASVILLE —

Funeral service for Mrs. Delores Grooms Davis will be at Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church Wednesday February 6, 2013 at 11 a.m. Rev. Michael Burns, officiating and Rev. Benard Sales, Eulogist.  Mrs. Delores Grooms Davis was born to the late Ocie Grooms and the late Easter McKinney in Thomasville, GA on November 24, 1944. Mrs Davis departed this life on January 28, 2013 at Glen Mor Nursing Home.  Mrs. Davis received a public education at Douglas High School. Mrs Davis was retired but enjoyed being a foster grandparent on the Rosehaven unit at Southwestern State Hospital prior to her health failing. Mrs Davis was a life long member of Mt. Pilgrim M.B. Church in Thomasville, GA. Mrs. Davis was married to the late Steyerman Davis Jr.  Left to cherish her memory are Midred (Michael) Burns of Thomasville and a son Demetrious Davis of Thomasville. Also left to mourn are grandchildren Melissa Smith of Bronx, New York; Demarcus Barron of Thomasville, GA; Isaiah Barron of Savannah GA; Elise Lovejoy, Kameron (Tamera ) Burns of Tifton, GA and Christopher (Camille) Robinson of Daytona, Florida. Mrs. Davis will be missed by her aunt Mrs. Joan McKinney of Thomasville and Uncle Odell McKinney of St Augustine, FL. and a broter in law Mr. Carlton Davis of Thomasville, GA. In addition to several great grandchildren, cousins, relatives, friends and church family. Public viewing will be today from 12 pm to 8 p.m. Family and Friends may line up for processional at 513 E. Walcott Street, Thomasville Ga. at 10 a.m. — Hopkins Mortuary
