Helen Ann Wright Griffin

THOMASVILLE —

Services for Helen Ann Wright Griffin of Coolidge will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at the Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home Chapel.  Evangelist James Tyson will officiate services with interment to follow at Greenfield Cemetery in Colquitt County.  Pallbearer’s will be Joshua Posey, Jason Boyett, Chancey Sadler, Hunter Sadler, Wesley Bradford, Devin Polk, Lewis Griffin and Donnie Joiner.  Honorary pallbearers will be Trae Watson and Bill Johnson.  Ms. Griffin was born on June 11, 1938 in Mitchell County, GA to the late James Luther Wright and Harriet McMillan.  She was a member of Five Forks Freewill Baptist Church in Barwick and she worked a a waitress for Waffle Shop.  On December 22, 1976 she wed Mr. Morris Griffin and their union would continue until the time of his passing on February 17, 2008.  Ms. Griffin departed this life on Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Thomasville Nursing and Rehab.  Survivors to cherish her memory include her son Tommy Posey (Barbara) of Coolidge; daughter Janice Johnson (Adriane) of Anniston, AL; son Steve Griffin (Renee) of Moultrie; daughters Retha Sadler (Wayne) of Cairo and Marsha Lyn Oates of Tampa, FL; sister Belinda Posey of Cairo, seventeen grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by:  brothers and sister, Frances Daniels, Blonnie Connell, Virginia Palmer, Jack Wright and Luther Wright.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 24, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Sign the online Register book on-line at www.whiddonshiverfuneralhome.com — Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home
