THOMASVILLE — Services for Jimmy Connell Lee, 75, of Reno, Ga., are at 11 a.m., July 30, 2010, at the chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, Ga. The Rev. Lee Brookins will officiate and interment is in Bethel Cemetery, Reno, Ga. Pallbearers are Gerald Garland, Christopher Hayes, Brandon Singletary, Carroll Hopkins, Tommy Hopkins, Greg Cone, Walter Maxwell and Robert Maxwell. Honorary pallbearers are Tom Hopkins, Luther Ausburn, Smiley Gale, Bill Connell, Leroy Hopkins Jr., Murry Bryant, Jimmy Garland, Berl Hawthorne, Marvin Garland and Hal Garland. Mr. Lee died Wednesday, July 28, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Ga. Born July 27, 1935, in Cairo, Ga., he was a son of the late Cory Lee and Margaret Connell Lee. He was a member of the Cairo High School Class of 1956 and served his country in the United States Army earning honors for his marksmanship. At his parents' home, he wed his love, Betty Garland Lee on Dec. 7, 1958. They were married 51 years. He worked at Hopkins Millings Company and the Torrington Company. Mr. Lee was a member of the NRA, FFA and Grady County Young Farmers. He was an avid hunter and fisherman that loved the outdoors. Having never met a stranger, he spent most of his life farming and enjoying being with family, friends and neighbors. Mr. Lee was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Betty Garland Lee of Reno, Ga.; daughters and son-in-law, Miriam Snipes of Tallahassee, Fla., Michele Cone of Albany, Ga., Lori and Jay Wrenn of Dothan, Ala.; son, Jimmy G. Lee of Reno, Ga.; grandson, Jack Cone of Albany, Ga.; and sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Tom Maxwell of Cairo, Ga. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cory and Margaret Lee.
