Edward Jerome (Bud) Elford

— Edward Jerome( Bud) Elford, 89, passed away May 4, 2012, at his home in Thomasville. Born Dec. 8, 1922, in Oneida, N.Y., he was a son of the late George Elford and Margaret Baird Elford. He was married to Martha Neel Stringer Elford, who survives. Mr. Elford was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in the Pacific Theater. He worked as a sales representative for Oneida Silverware. Mr. Elford was a member of the U.S. Professional Golf Association and was head professional at Blue Hills Country Club in Kansas City, Mo. Special interests included Ducks Unlimited and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Other survivors include his children, Peter and Michele Elford, Margaret and Brad Hoag, Susan Macardini and Sarah Richardville, all of Grand Rapids, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. There will be a private service for the family on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at the First Presbyterian Church in Thomasville, with a reception to follow at 11 a.m. in the church Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Thomasville, 225 E. Jackson St., Thomasville, Ga. 31792 or Thomas County Historical Society, P.O.
