THOMASVILLE — Services for Annie Lee Carnegie, 89, of Albany, are at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Albany. The Rev. Dr. Daniel Simmons will officiate and interment is at 3 p.m., at Magnolia Cemetery in Thomasville. Mrs. Carnegie died May 1 at Phoebe Putney Hospital. Born Nov. 22, 1922, in Thomasville, she is the daughter of William Martin and Annie both of whom preceded her in death. She was married to Norman Carnegie, attended Thomas County schools and was an administrative assistant for Altanta Life Insurance Co. for many years. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. Survivors include her husband, Norman L. Carnegie of Albany; daughter, Susan L. Carnegie Smith of Albany; grandsons, Troy Smith Jr., Le’tre Smith both of Albany; sisters, Carrie Birch of Atlanta, Willie Mae Martin of Detroit, Mich., Pauline Lyles (Fort) of Washington, Md.; brother, Avon Martin (Sandra) of Detroit, Mich.; sisters-in-law, Irene Greene of Newark, Ohio, Mattie McKinney of Valdosta, Claudette Martin of Detroit, Mich.; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
