Wilma Mathews Tedder

THOMASVILLE —

Graveside services for Wilma Jean Mathews Tedder, 58, of Pavo are at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. John Pritchett will officiate. Mrs. Tedder died on Jan. 26. Born April 18, 1954 in Thomas County, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Lydia Mitchell Mathews. Mrs. Tedder was a medical transcriptionist for Archbold Memorial Hospital and a member of Quitman Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses. She was married to George B. Tedder Jr., who survives. Other survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Sammy Messer of Barwick; son, Tony Tedder of Quitman; son and daughter-in-law, Benny and Brandy Tedder of Whigham; grandchildren, Bridgett Rex, Ladon Messer, Alexis Hodum, Jordan Tedder, Dillon Tedder, Brenna Tedder, Zela Wilson and great-grandchildren, Jayleigh Rex and Baylor Rex. Also surviving are sisters and brothers in law, Julie and Jack Sealey of Lee, Fla., Ann and Leon Whatley of Moultrie, Martha and Gary Baldwin of Ochlocknee, Marcelle and Ricky Dixon of Murphy, N.C.; brother, Jimmy Mathews of Thomasville; brothers and sisters-in-law Ronnie and Lyndal Mathews of Pavo, Stanley and June Mathews of Ochlocknee; sister-in-law Linda Mathews of Ochlocknee; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Adam Mathews; a sister, Alene Collins; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Mathews.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Archbold Foundation Resource Center at Lewis Hall Singletary Oncology Center, in Memory of Wilma J. Tedder, 910 S. Broad St., Thomasville, Ga. 31792. The family will receive family and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
