Lois Harp Bass, 78, of Irwin County, died Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Irwin County Hospital in Ocilla. Services were held at 4 p.m., Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Pinetta Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Barton officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery.
Mrs. Bass was born May 31, 1933, in Dooly County to the late Isaac Franklin and Daisy Mae Craig Harp. She was a former threading machine operator at the Cotton Mill and Fitzgerald Underwear. She lived in Irwin County since 1989, moving from Tifton. Mrs. Bass was a member of Pinetta Baptist Church She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Jeff Brinson of Ochlocknee; son-in-law, Larry G. Busbin of Irwin County; grandchildren, Patrick Patterson, Jason and Kelli Patterson, Jeffrey and Tina Brinson, De and Kathy Busbin; great-grandchildren, Robbie Patterson, Garrett Patterson, Kelsey Brinson; sisters, Mary and Paul Wisenbaker of Valdosta, Laura and Bob Baker of Hendersonville, N.C., June and Lamar Pyles, and Evelyn and Lee McDaniel, all of Tifton, Virginia and Marion Blankenship of Ocilla, Judy Garren of TyTy; brother, Allen and Jeanie Harp of Anderson City; and a sister-in-law, Net Harp of Tifton. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Bass in November 2011; a daughter, Vera Busbin; a grandson, Todd Busbin; a brother, George Harp; and a brother-in-law, Tony Garren.
