Ethel B. Thomas

THOMASVILLE — Services for Ethel B. Thomas will be held at Life, Power, Praise Church, 1217 N. Broad St. on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 3:00 P.M.  Pastor Kevin Harrison, Jr. will officiate services with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery.  Mrs. Thomas was born on  March 24, 1907 in Thomasville and lived all 105 years of her life here until her death on April 27, 2012 at her home.  She is the daughter of the late William B. and Swettie Battle and the wife of the late Ulysses Thomas.  Mrs. Thomas attended the Thomas County School System and went on to attend the Allen Normal Industrial School.  After completing her education she would become a life long homemaker  She was a member of Life, Power, Praise Church where she also served as Mother of the Mother Board.  Survivors left to cherish her memory include great-grandsons Joseph Sapp (Priscillia) of Thomasville, GA and Michael Sapp (Gail) of Chesapeake, VA; great-granddaughter Sheila Sapp of Durham, NC; great grandson Timothy Sapp of Phoenix, AZ; great granddaughter Crystal Walker (Perez) of Jacksonville, FL; great great grandchildren Chastity Sapp, Ariel Sapp, Rashad Sapp, Devin Sapp, David Sapp, Julian Sapp, Audrey Sapp, Nicholas Walker, Brandon Walker, Gabriella Sapp and a host of other relatives and friends.  Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband Ulysses Thomas and her parents Willie B. and Swettie Battle.  The visitation will be on Friday from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 P.M.  The remains will lie instate at the church 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour with no viewing after the eulogy. — Hatcher-Peoples Funeral Home
