Services for Missionary Doris R. Jones, 70, of Thomasville, are at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Healing Temple Ministries, 112 Fairfax St., Thomasville. Chief Apostle Robert Welch, Healing Temple Ministries Inc. (eulogy), the Rev. Emory Virgil, Providence Missionary Baptist Church (prayer) of Thomasville, Bishop David Townes, Healing Temple Ministries Inc. (presiding), the Rev. Charlie Ross, First Unity Missionary Baptist Church of Thomasville (Old Testament scripture), James Lary Jr. of Macon (New Testament scripture) will officiate and interment is in Peaceful Rest Cemetery. Pallbearers are her nephews. Honorary pallbearers are the men of Douglass High School class of 1959. Born in Thomas County, she was daughter of the late Carrie Lee Robinson and Fred Robinson. On July 5, 1987, in Thomasville, she married Benjamin Jones Sr. She was retired after 28 years as a Health Service Technician Senior at Southwestern State Hospital. She was a 1959 graduate of Douglass High School and a Church Missionary at Healing Temple Ministries where she was a member. Survivors include husband, Benjamin Jones Sr. of Thomasville; sons, Mark Davis (Keva) of Thomasville, Benjamin Jones Jr. of Atlanta; daughters, Lawanna McCoy (Jerome) of Charlotte, N.C., Lt. Col. Kimberly Williams of Manhattan, Kansas; granddaughter, Akia Davis of Thomasville; grandson, Roderick Jones of Hartford, Conn.; sisters, Leola Lawyer, Carrie Lee Harrison, Linda Smith (Jimmy), Rosemary Dunbar all of Thomasville; brother-in-law, Joe Jones (Marie) of Cairo; sister-in-law, Ruby Robinson of Thomasville; aunts, Corinne Wilson of Thomasville, Virginia Wilson of Dayton, Ohio, Emma Hill (Harold) of Atlanta, Fannie Johnson of Columbia, S.C.; uncles, Napolean Rogers Jr. of Trenton, N.J., James Lary Sr. of Macon; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. The viewing is from noon to 8:30 p.m., today at the funeral home. There will be a family hour from 7 to 8 p.m., today at the funeral chapel.
