Sally Ruth Grant Alley
Services for Sally Ruth Grant Alley, 94, of Thomasville, are 2 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2009, at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Carl Howard will officiate and interment is in Laurel Hill Cemetery on Florida Street. Mrs. Alley died July 20, at Glen-Mor Nursing Home. Born Sept. 12, 1913, in Holmes County, Fla., she was the daughter of the late John A. Grant and Amanda Martin Grant. Mrs. Alley was married to R.T. Alley, who preceded her in death. She was a ticket agent for Trailways Bus Co. and a member of Dawson Street United Methodist Church. Survivors include daughters –in-law, Pauline Sanders Alley of Moultrie, Janie Tillie Alley of Jasper, Ga.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her sons, Lamar Alley Sr. and Doyle Alley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Georgia, 818 Gordon Ave., Thomasville, Ga. 31792.
