Myrtle Davis Hicks



Services for Myrtle Davis Hicks, 93, of Ochlocknee are 11 a.m., Saturday, July 11, 2009, at Little Ochlocknee Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. James B. Spencer and the Rev. Dr. James H. Huffaker will officiate and interment is in Ochlocknee City Cemetery. Pallbearers are nephews, Ronald Guill, Rick Guill, Rafe Guill, Rex Guill, Robbins Guill and Russell Ellis. Honorary pallbearers will be the Hicks nephews and Davis nephews. Mrs. Hicks died July 8, at Plantation Manor. Born July 30, 1915, in Thomas County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Charlie G. Davis and Lavada Smith Davis. She was married to C. Carl Hicks, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Hicks was a member of Dawes Presbyterian Church and was retired co-owner of Ochlocknee Insurance Agency. Survivors include sisters, Joan Davis Stewart, Opal Davis Ellis both of Ochlocknee, Judith Davis Guill of Stony Point, N.C. She was preceded in death by brother, J.C. Davis; sisters, Eunice Davis Bozeman and Grace Davis Pridgeon. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, July 10, the funeral home.
