On Nov. 14, the John Lee of Nansemond Chapter, National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century welcomed two new members, Dr. Helen Paris Anderson Everett of Thomasville and Haley Rae Davies of Troy, Ala.
Everett’s ancestor is George Mason I, who came to the colony of Virginia in 1655 from Worchestershire, England. He married Mary French of Virginia. He was a landowner and a member of the House of Burgesses.
Davies’ ancestor is Francis Holmes, who was born in the colony of Massachusetts in 1670. He married Rebecca Wharfe. He was a landowner, merchant and the proprietor of an inn.
The John Lee of Nansemond Chapter unveiled a historical marking of Boston Presbyterian Church on Sunday following the morning church service.
