THOMASVILLE —
A Boston man identified by police from a hotel parking lot video is charged with taking items from a vehicle.
Thomasville police responded at 4:30 a.m. Saturday to a hotel in the 15000 block of U.S. 19 South, where a man said money, a lap-top computer and a firearm were taken from his locked vehicle during the night.
Police viewed the hotel parking lot video, and the suspect was recognized by an officer.
With assistance from the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office and Boston police, the suspect, Michael Kevin Brown, 19, was found at his 1050 Martin Road residence.
“Cash, a lap-top computer and a handgun were recovered from the residence,” said Lt. Eric Hampton, Thomasville Police Department public information officer.
Brown is charged with entering auto and theft by taking a firearm.
Bond was denied, and he is behind bars at the Thomas County Jail.
