THOMASVILLE —
A marijuana-growing operation was busted, and firearms were seized late Tuesday night at an East Washington Street residence.
“While a couple of narcotics agents secured a search warrant for the residence, other narcotics agents approached from a wooded area and saw marijuana plants in big, black pots in the back yard,” said Kevin Lee, Thomas County/Thomasville Narcotics/Vice Division commander.
Assisted by Thomas County Sheriff’s Office deputies, agents knocked on the door at 1616 East Washington. Paul Trevejo, 45, who lives alone at the house, answered the door.
The search warrant was executed, and the marijuana plants were secured.
“Upstairs, we found marijuana hanging and drying out,” Lee explained. “We found a small quantity of processed marijuana and numerous marijuana seeds.”
The drying contraband and seeds were found in an office area adjacent to the master bedroom on the second floor of the house.
“He had multiple computers, and he had a scanner where he could listen to different law enforcement radio traffic,” the commander said.
