New Year’s revelry leads to arrest

THOMASVILLE — A 23-year-old Thomas County man is charged in a New Year’s-related incident in which a man was run over by a vehicle at a party.

Adam Christopher Maxwell, North Pine Tree Boulevard, is charged with aggravated assault and driving under the influence in an incident at a New Year’s Eve party at a 12 Mile Post Road residence. Maxwell is being held at the Thomas County Jail.

Between 3 and 3:30 a.m. Tuesday at the residence, Maxwell ran over a 27-year-old Thomas County man with a vehicle, said Capt. Steven Jones, Thomas County Sheriff’s Office public information officer.

The victim was treated at the Archbold Memorial Hospital emergency room.

“The investigation is ongoing,” Jones said Wednesday.

A number of witnesses are being interviewed by sheriff’s office investigators.
