THOMASVILLE —
Relief from the Streets Inc. members teamed with executive director Rico Walker Saturday to brighten the lives of 29 people in need. Walker and the young men he mentors made surprise visits to 29 homes in Thomas County.
Relief from the Streets Inc. compiled holiday gift bags that included basic necessities. After contacting numerous churches in the area, Walker received the names of many in the community who were on a “sick and shut-in list.”
“I get together with the young men of Relief from the Streets often,” Walker said. “We take educational excursions, but I thought it would be good to teach these young men other values as well. I believe in helping people, and I always try to give back to the community.”
