THOMASVILLE —
Seth Sofferin of Thomasville was recognized at the 2012 Spring Awards Banquet on April 12, held annually by the University of Georgia’s Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. Sofferin, son of David and Susan Sofferin, won the Northeast Georgia Quail Unlimited Scholarship. Sofferin is a senior majoring in wildlife.
The Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources, founded in 1906, is the oldest such school in the South. It prepares leaders in the conservation and sustainable management of forests and other renewable natural resources.
Located on the University of Georgia’s south campus, the Warnell School has nearly 300 students in four majors learning to use the latest ideas and technology for real-world applications. Every year, the Warnell School awards more than $100,000 in scholarships to help students pay for their education.
