THOMASVILLE —
The ninth annual Hands On Thomas County (HOTC) Day will take place Oct. 20 from 9 a.m-noon.
All throughout Thomas County, citizens will lend a hand by volunteering their time and skills to local non-profit organizations and community service projects. Everyone is encouraged to register to take part by calling 226-5200 or e-mailing info@handsonthomascounty.org.
Volunteers may find themselves preserving Thomasville’s heritage through the beautification of public spaces and the painting of historic homes. Some volunteers will help take a bite out of hunger by distributing food to those in need. Other volunteers will have their hands full caring for animals seeking forever homes. No matter the project, all volunteers will make possible, what might otherwise be impossible, for our area’s non-profit organizations.
Pam Lister, executive director of Keep Thomas County Beautiful, said, “Volunteer management is a big part of any non-profit agency. Hands On Thomas County helps make our jobs easier and provides a tremendous help in accomplishing our mission. “
