Esther fundraiser Aug. 4

THOMASVILLE — A fundraiser for Jameria Esther is Saturday, Aug. 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Luke CME Church on Chatham Drive.

The child is battling a traumatic brain injury she suffered in 2002.

Funds raised will go toward defraying costs of medical care and related travel expenses incurred by the child’s family.

Zumba instructors will lead those attending the fundraiser through routines.

Children ages four through 17 are encouraged to participate and learn about giving back, said Gwen Williams, Zumba instructor and fundraiser organizer.

Each adult participant will be asked to donate $10 that will go to the cause, Williams said. Child participants will be asked to contribute $3.

Door prizes and other giveaways will be available.

Cash donations will be accepted at the door. Checks should be made out to Jameria Esther Fund.
