THOMASVILLE —
The new District 6 commissioner will be seated Tuesday on the Thomas County Commission.
Wiley Grady was elected to the District 6 post in 2012, after Mary Jo Beverly, longtime District 6 commissioner, did not seek re-election.
Also at the Tuesday meeting — at 9 a.m. at the Thomas County Emergency Services Center, 1202 Remington Ave. — commissioners will elect a 2013 chairman and vice chairman and appoint a county attorney to serve this year.
Alicia Hester, who took office Jan. 1 as Thomas County tax commissioner, will meet with the board about uncollectible taxes.
Under new business, appointments to the Thomas County Tax Assessors Board and the Southwest Georgia Regional Commission are on the agenda, along with a listing of animal control board.
Commissioners also will consider ratifying the purchase of diesel fuel, an ambulance, mobile dispatch equipment and shelving.
The county attorney is scheduled to address the county tax sale policy and use of county property.
