THOMASVILLE —
Brookwood School’s 2013 STAR student is Olivia Ann Howell. The Brookwood senior has chosen as her STAR teacher Keith Massey, her teacher for algebra II and Advanced Placement calculus.
“As a student, Olivia has always strived to do whatever was needed so she would have a complete understanding of a topic,” said Massey, who is a STAR teacher for the third time. “She is willing to spend the time and effort to be the best that she can be.
“As a person, Olivia is always quick to greet you with a smile and a positive outlook on the day. She brightens up any room or hallway that she is in.”
The Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program honors Georgia’s outstanding high school seniors and the teachers who have been most instrumental in their academic development. To obtain the STAR nomination, high school seniors must have the highest score on a single test date on the three-part SAT taken through the November test date of their senior year and be in the top 10 percent of their class based on grade point average.
