Taylor named to House panel

THOMASVILLE — A Thomasville Republican member of the Georgia House of Representatives has been named to the 2013-2014 House Majority Whip team.

State Rep. Darlene Taylor was named a team member Friday by  House Majority Whip Edward Lindsey, R-Atlanta.

Members of the majority whip team will play a critical role by monitoring legislation as it moves through both chambers of the General Assembly and by helping members of the majority caucus to better understand the details of bills and resolutions.

State Rep. Stephen Allison, R-Blairsville, will help lead the 2013-2014 House Majority Whip team.

“These Deputy Whips were carefully selected for their dedication, hard work and honesty, which has allowed them to earn the respect and trust of their fellow caucus members,” Lindsey said.

“The legislative understanding and personal integrity that enables these representatives to successfully serve their constituents will also make them valuable members of the House Majority Whip team,” he explained.
