Man charged with indecent exposure at Victorian Christmas

THOMASVILLE — A 43-year-old Florida man was charged with indecent exposure and child molestation after he allegedly exposed himself at Victorian Christmas Friday.

About 7:40 p.m., police were told a man was exposing himself in the 100 block of South Broad Street. Officers responded to the area and, after witnessing the activity, arrested Michael Gary Maxwell, 13899 Old Centerville Road, Tallahassee, Fla. Maxwell posted a $2,100 bond and was released from the Thomas County Jail.

Police assigned to work the event responded quickly to the incident and prevented the suspect from getting away, said Lt. Eric Hampton, Thomasville Police Department public information officer.

“This is the reason we are there. We want to make sure people are able to enjoy themselves without having others spoil their outing and their Christmas holidays,” Hampton said.

The child molestation charge resulted from the suspect allegedly exposing himself in front of several children.
