THOMASVILLE —
Thomas University gathered at Glen Arven Country Club on Friday to honor outstanding alumni during the Annual Alumni Awards Dinner.
Mary Weber received the Ambassadors Award, which is presented to an individual in appreciation of exceptional volunteer commitment to Thomas University. Weber graduated from Thomas University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree and in 2008 with a Master of Science in Nursing Degree. She currently serves as the President of the Alumni Board of Governors. In addition to her career working in various areas of nursing, Weber is also an active volunteer for TU events throughout the year.
The Distinguished Young Alumni Award went to Steve Padgett. The award is given to an alumnus in recognition of personal and professional accomplishments in addition to the alumnus’ commitment to TU. After graduating from Thomas University in 2007, Padgett went on to earn a Master of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is now pursuing a Ph.D. in Integrative Conservation and Geography at the University of Georgia. Padgett works with the NASA DEVELOP Program as the Center Lead for the program at Marshall Space Flight Center.
